Inter Primo Group

Enitor Primo is part of the international Primo Group. With 1,000 colleagues, Primo is the largest extrusion company for custom profiles in Europe.

The history of Primo dates back to 1959, when the company was founded by Chr. Jensen. A year earlier, he purchased his first extruder at a trade fair in England, after which Primo-Plast A/S was established in Tistrup, Denmark. This remains an important production site for the group.

In 1977, Fleming Grunnet took over the company and developed it further into an international organisation. In 2000, the Inter Primo Group was established with its headquarters in Copenhagen. In 2019, Essentra Extrusion was acquired and became part of the group, operating under the brand name Enitor Primo, with Primo Netherlands B.V. as the legal entity. In 2025, Mette Grunnet assumed the chairmanship of the board, continuing the family tradition.

With more than 300 advanced production lines and the Primo Technology & Innovation Centre, we continuously develop and test new materials, profile designs and extrusion processes. With an annual turnover of 175 million euros and partnerships with customers in Europe, Asia and the United States, we build long-term relationships based on innovation, quality and trust.

Since 2012, CEO Claus Tønnesen has been at the helm of the group and has contributed to its ongoing development and growth. He brings a strong technical background and extensive leadership experience gained at Danfoss.

Chairman of the Inter Primo Group

Mette Grunnet took office as Chairman of the Primo Group in January 2025, succeeding her father Fleming Grunnet. She represents the third generation of the family business founded in 1959 and grew up at the Danish site of Primo, among the extrusion lines that shaped the company.

Second and third generation: Fleming Grunnet and his daughter Mette Grunnet, who has served as Chairman of the Inter Primo Group since 2025.
