Sustainability is not an option, it’s how we operate

Sustainability Is a Matter of Course for Us

At Enitor Primo, we believe plastic can be part of the solution. Through our Future Fit programme, we are working on the way extruded plastic profiles are designed, produced and reused. In doing so, we are contributing to a more sustainable future for the plastics industry.

Sustainable with Plastic. Our Commitment.

  • Circular profiles: sustainable and recyclable
  • Zero waste: production water is reused every day
  • Clean production: no plastic from our production process enters the environment, thanks to Operation Clean Sweep

How We Help You Reduce CO₂

  • Raw materials with a lower CO₂ footprint, for example bio-based or recycled materials
  • Profile design improvements that reduce overall weight
  • End-of-life considerations built into the design phase to ensure effective recyclability
  • Take-back solutions: Enitor Primo can take back saw waste and reprocess it

Enitor Primo can help you calculate the CO₂ savings achieved by switching to more environmentally responsible alternatives. CO₂ calculations are validated by the independent third party ConClimate.

Certificates

We offer the possibility to prepare both LCAs (Life Cycle Assessments) and EPDs (Environmental Product Declarations) for your products. An LCA maps the complete environmental impact of a product, from raw material extraction through to end of life. Based on this analysis, a validated EPD can be prepared: a transparent and standardised document that provides clear insight into the environmental performance of your product.

With an EPD, you can substantiate your sustainability claims, compare products objectively and meet requirements within tendering and certification systems. Together, we make environmental impact transparent and verifiable.

Primo’s future fit

Working Together to Reduce CO₂ Emissions
We help you reduce your CO₂ emissions, contributing to a more sustainable future. Through well-considered choices in design, material use and documentation, we make it possible to make products and processes more efficient and environmentally responsible.

Innovation in Sustainable Materials and Designs
We stimulate innovation in sustainable materials and product designs to enable responsible production and consumption. Through conscious material choices, safe processes and close collaboration with suppliers, we contribute to a sustainable production chain.

Our Waste and Water Impact
We actively work to reduce our waste and water impact. By managing raw materials, water use and waste streams responsibly, with clear environmental procedures and structural improvements, we ensure an efficient and sustainable operation.

.

The Impact of Our Raw Materials
We strive to use raw materials as efficiently and circularly as possible. By minimising waste and reintroducing materials into the production cycle, we reduce our environmental impact and contribute to a sustainable supply chain.

Making the Plastics Chain Circular
We work towards circular use of plastic by improving the collection, reuse and recovery of waste streams as raw materials. By collaborating with partners and organising smart return flows, we reduce plastic waste and promote the circular use of materials.

Our Climate and Energy Impact
We continually work to reduce our climate and energy impact. By investing in energy-efficient technology, promoting mindful energy use within the organisation and utilising sustainable energy sources, we contribute to a more efficient and sustainable business operation.

“Future Fit is Primo’s commitment to sustainability. It is our promise to be part of the global movement towards a sustainable future. We take responsibility for creating best practices in our work – in the interest of everyone.”

Success Story

Sustainable Alternative to Wooden Dunnage

Together with our customer Cargo Stick, we developed an innovative and sustainable alternative to traditional wooden dunnage: the Cargo Stick. This extruded plastic profile is used to support steel profiles during transport and provides a future-proof solution for the logistics sector.

The core of the profile is manufactured entirely from post-consumer recycled material. This makes the Cargo Stick not only an environmentally responsible alternative but also a technically improved solution. The profiles are anti-slip, providing additional safety for truck drivers during loading and unloading. They are also moisture-resistant and maintain their quality under varying conditions, unlike wood. An added benefit is that the cost is lower than traditional wooden dunnage.
